Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg, inaugurated an investment of € 2.1 million in new machinery that will not only improve the quality of Maltese stone but also will further increase employment. This investment, part of which is financed by a Malta Enterprise scheme with European funds, is part of a larger investment project of € 9 million.
Prime Minister Abela said that despite the unprecedented challenges facing the country in recent months, the Government remained committed to be a shoulder for Maltese and Gozitan businesses. He said that this confidence that the Government has in investors such as the Bonnici Group, who were not afraid of challenges, has translated into more job creation for the workers in our country.
He went on to say that for the last 40 years, the Bonnici Group has set up an enterprise on a solid foundation that has provided many services to the private, commercial, industrial and with them many large infrastructure projects in the Maltese islands that have benefited families.
