Safe in their vehicles, the Maltese and Gozitan families will be able to enter the Christmas spirit through an attraction entitled “The Magical Illuminated Trail: Drive-Thru Edition, in the parking Gianpula Village, Victoria. This attraction will incorporate animal statues, fantasy characters, sea creatures as well as all other structures related to Christmas scenes.

The Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo pointed out that such an attraction, the first of its kind in the country, brings out the talent and innovation of the people. “The beauty of this attraction is on two parts. The first is the responsibility behind this initiative, where people who will be coming here between 4 December and 10 January will be able to see this attraction without having to go out from their cars. The second significance is that this is an initiative that will also be helping the Malta Community Chest Fund ”.
The Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority Dr Gavin Gulia mentioned that one of the functions of the MTA is to renew, strengthen and be more varied the Maltese tourism product. Therefore, those new initiatives and products that introduce different and innovative ways of uploading their activities, both those who visit us from abroad and the local public can enjoy our country. This applies all year round but perhaps especially applies to the Christmas season which is very important from the tourist point of view because, along with the main summer season and that of the Easter holidays, it is a fundamental season. for tourism and hospitality.
MCCF Chair Marlene Mizzi said there is nothing better that in the rather dire circumstances that this year has brought us, there will be a joyous and fun event, an event in which all families can participate safely and at the same time they contribute to making a real difference for those sick and vulnerable people of our society with their participation. On behalf of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation she thanked the organizers for helping the MCCFF.
On behalf of the organizers of Illuminated Trail Malta, Sarah Aquilina said that initially, this attraction was planned to be held as a walk-thru in one of the main gardens of the country. However, due to Covid-19, a decision was made to make it in the form of a drive-thru instead making the initiative safe for everyone.
