The Nationalist Party (PN) has criticized the government for failing to ensure public safety due to the closure of police stations. Speaking outside the Msida Police Station, Shadow Minister Darren Carabott highlighted that several stations have been shut for months, calling it a neglect of security. He stressed that open stations should be a priority.
Msida Mayor Charles Selvaggi noted residents must travel to Sliema to file reports amid rising theft concerns.
In response, the Labour Party (PL) dismissed PN’s claims as populist, insisting that police presence has increased and that stations, including Msida’s, are being upgraded. The PL also cited NSO statistics showing high public trust in law enforcement.
