Surveillance at the Freeport by the Police, assisted by the Customs Department, led to the discovery of around 100 kilograms of drugs suspected to be cocaine, with a street value of around €14 million.
The drugs were found in around 50 packets hidden among cable rolls in a container which arrived in Malta from the Port of Guayaqil in Ecuador.
