A new service for cleaning after the festivities

Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleanliness Glenn Bedingfield announces scheme related to the cleaning of village feasts

A new scheme has been announced through which the Maintenance and Cleaning Division will offer its services free of charge for cleaning during the festive days in Maltese localities.

The General Director of the Division Ramon Deguara explained that as a Division for Cleaning and Maintenance it is extending its services to the communities where the parties are organized and this will be done free of charge as a way for the division to give back to society. Accordingly, this scheme will be given free of charge to all those councils and party associations that voluntarily apply for it through an official request to the Cleaning and Maintenance Division.

Parliamentary Secretary Glenn Bedingfield said that a collective effort is needed to take care of our country in every way. “We want to work hand in hand with the localities because we work for the people and the parties belong to the people, the highlight of every locality.”

The parliamentary secretary said that such schemes are possible thanks to the multimillion investment made by the division in the latest technologies assisted by Artificial Intelligence. “We can enter into this commitment because we have confidence in the abilities of our workers and we are investing in them, so much so that we have just announced increases in wages and working conditions”. “All this testifies to our support and commitment towards a cleaner and maintained country as it should be. This is because through strong investment both in technological resources and much more, in our human resource, we are succeeding in expanding the services we offer throughout all Maltese communities,” continued the parliamentary secretary.

He thanked all the organizations that work with so much passion during the festive period and explained that through this scheme he will be seeing that the division works hand in hand with the activists and with all the localities so that the city or the village will come back to where they were in the shortest possible time
