Joanne Gardens in Tarxien upgraded for community to enjo

The Tarxien community has a wonderful space where families can spend quality time together. With an investment of €190,000 from LESA Agency funds, from the Norway Fund and Tarxien Local Council funds, together with work carried out by the Department of Public Works, beautification work was inaugurated at Joanne Gardens in Tarxien.

This garden, a popular open space in the area, has gone through a maintenance process by changing the lighting system, repairing the wooden gazebo, repairing fences, installing outside furniture and even attention was paid to the plants and trees that are in the same garden. This work was inaugurated by the Minister of the Interior, Security and Work Byron Camilleri and by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett together with the Mayor of the locality  Joseph Abela Galea and the Councillors.

In a short speech Minister Byron Camilleri noted how in the last three years, €3.25 million have been allocated to carry out various projects in all the localities around Malta and Gozo, from the LESA Agency which is investing in various projects from which the -community. “Through this work the residents of Tarxien have a nicer open area in the heart of an urbanized place, which is a green lung for many residents who live in the surrounding area. Committed to continue investing in similar projects that improve the quality of life of the community,” explained the Minister for the Interior, Security and Work Byron Camilleri expressed his satisfaction for the work done to carry out a project another one in Tarxien that will be enjoyed by all the residents while he thanked everyone who was involved.

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett noted with satisfaction the works carried out in Joanne Gardens in Tarxien. “This project shows how with the coordination and unity between various entities, we beautified Joanne Gardens which are so dear to the Tarxin community. Satisfied that this garden, which offers a relaxing space for everyone who visits, is now in a much better and even safer state after the regeneration, maintenance and beautification works,” said Minister Bonett.
