Through an agreement, an educational program for the elderly will be set up in the Stone Museum in Gozo

An agreement was signed between Active Aging and Care in the community and the Stone Museum in Gozo through which an educational program of the Third Age University (U3A) will be organized for the elderly. The Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela presided over the signing of this agreement.

Minister Abela explained how the University of the Third Age offers no less than 50 courses a year for more than 700 members whose age varies from 60 years to over 85 years. He said that there are currently several centers around Malta and Gozo that are offering these courses.

He explained how this educational program in “The Stone, Heart of Gozo Museum” is divided into various subjects. Among them they will discuss in more detail the art; the island of Gozzia; socio-economic development; among various other subjects.

“Sessions like these continue to help many elderly people increase their knowledge as well as help them keep their minds active and keep in touch in the community. This continues with the government’s vision of seeing our elderly at the heart of the communities,” concluded Minister Abela.
