Mrs Ruth Sciberras will be appointed new Chief Executive for the Standards and Social Protection Authority (SCSA).
Mrs. Sciberras has worked in the social field for the last 25 years and has served in several important positions where her responsibilities have always been the protection of children, of persons with disabilities together with victims of violence domestic. She served as Director in the Support Agency and was also part of the Maltese delegation that assisted the Maltese Government to draw up a number of international agreements for adoptions.
Mrs. Ruth Sciberras also served as Chief Executive of Aġenzija Sapport, where she later continued working in the Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights. In the last two years Mrs. Sciberras was instrumental in implementing the Positive Parenting strategy. Her experience in the field of domestic violence led to her being appointed Chairperson of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Meetings (MARAM) in 2023.
Minister Michael Falzon wishes Mrs. Ruth Sciberras well for her new position, while reiterating that this appointment clearly shows the Government’s willingness to continue to strengthen the social sector with competent people for the good of all.
This appointment is effective from 1 January 2024.
