For the sixth consecutive year, the Local Council of Bormla will organize the theatrical activity, Cospicua Short Play Festival, in various streets in Bormla.
This activity will take place between Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September from half past seven in the evening onwards. This festival will be held with an investment of around €37,000 with funding from the scheme for Annual Cultural Activities and from additional funds from the local council.
During the launch of this festival, the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli said that socio-cultural activities offer a sense of community and continue to give life to our localities. She also said that this outdoor theatrical activity also gives space to local artists to show their talents.
“I commend the Local Council of Bormla and all the organizers for the work to put on the sixth edition of this activity and I encourage the public to attend in order to enjoy and support the Maltese talent”, said the parliamentary secretary.
The Mayor of Bormla Marco Agius said that this year 6 competitive performances will be staged where 3 of them will take place in Pjazza Santa Margerita and the rest in Pjazza Suq Bonnici, in Pjazza ta Bormla and in the yard of -local council respectively.
The festival is free of charge and without the need to reserve a place. On Sunday 24 September, five awards will be given for the best production, actor, actress, script and director. Present for this launch were also several members from the Local Council of Bormla and the principal director Jason Zerafa.
