The Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Grands Suites Hotel in the heart of the island after a massive investment of €45 million.
During the visit, Prime Minister Abela had the opportunity to meet the management of the company and several workers who chose a career in the field of hospitality. Dr. Abela also noted the strong confidence that the Maltese entrepreneur has in the country through the resilience he continued to show in international circumstances that brought with them great challenges. This context of confidence in our country continued to be confirmed through figures released by the National Statistics Office which showed the strong sense of optimism for the time to come.
In fact, between January and November of 2022 the number of tourists who visited Malta was around 2.2 million tourists; very close to that of 2019 where it was considered a record year in tourism.
The managing director of the hotel, Marvin Spiteri, reciprocated this same confidence in our country by showing his appreciation of the support he received continuously from all the authorities concerned so that this project could be completed and be of success. “We are very proud of the completion of this project with an investment of €45 million. Now we are eager to offer a quality tourist product in our country to anyone who chooses to visit the beauty that our country has to offer”, stated Mr Spiteri.
The idea behind this hotel equipped with 231 rooms was to offer different hospitality with the aim that the tourists who choose this accommodation make use of the quality services offered by Grands Suites Hotel. Each room has the facility of a kitchen and on each floor there is a laundry service as if the resident is living at home anyway. Present during the visit was also the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo.
