Following the first successful edition of Christmas in the Park, the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise is once again hosting this Christmas village at the Salina National Park.
During these festive days, until the 18th of December, families in Malta and Gozo are invited to visit and enjoy the Christmas Village at the Salina National Park. Entrance for Christmas in the Park is free.
The second edition of Christmas in the Park was officially launched by the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise, Miriam Dalli, as this Park was transformed into a Christmas Village, bringing people closer to the environment whilst treating themselves to the wonderful world of Christmas.
“We must incorporate the environmental values that are guiding our country’s journey towards a brighter and more sustainable future in everything that we do. To help our citizens enjoy open spaces, we should make them more accessible and bring them to life through similar sustainable activities. We must sustain our commitment towards environmental protection in various aspects of our lives all year round, the festive season included. Therefore, we are inviting families to join us and see how Christmas can be enjoyed in a sustainable manner as well,” said Minister Miriam Dalli during the opening.
Christmas in the Park is being organised by the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise and its entities, who have transformed the park into a Christmas village. Visitors and children can play games, savour traditional Christmas food and drinks, and enjoy other festive entertainment including popular Christmas characters such as Santa Claus, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman.
A part of the park has been transformed into the Enchanted Forest, with various lighting effects where families can walk and admire environmentally-themed characters and structures with many wonderful colours. The younger generation also has the chance to meet Santa Claus in his special tent in the Park.
In this Christmas village, the public can also find more information on how we can celebrate Christmas in a sustainable way.
The programme of Christmas in the Park’s daily activities is available on christmasinthepark.mt. On weekdays, this Christmas village is open from 5pm to 10pm. On weekends and public holidays, the entertainment in the Park starts at 10am and continues until 10pm.
