A 64-year-old man lost his life in an explosion at Kirkop fireworks factory on Saturday morning, police have confirmed.
The explosion, shortly after 7am, happened at the St Joseph of Kirkop fireworks factory.
Civil Protection crews together with Army Explosive unit and a medical team were called to the scene.
Another man who was inside the factory was injured and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital although his condition is not known at this time.
Two other men who were working in a nearby field were also taken to hospital.
