A 33-year-old man from Valletta was arrested in connection with alleged drugs trafficking
in San Paul il-Baħar.
Early on Saturday morning, police noticed a man acting suspicously in Triq il-Hjejjeġ andlater he was allegedly seen passing some packages to another person in Triq Julju. It was here that the man noticed the presence of the police and ran away with the police chasing him along several streets until he was stopped and arrested in Triq i-Cern.
From a search carried out on him, he was found in possession of 51 sachets with a white substance suspected to be cocaine and 33 sachets with a brown substance suspected to be heroin.
