“Decisions that should serve to attract new investment that creates more quality jobs” – the Prime Minister during the inauguration of new UHM offices
During the inauguration of new offices of the UHM Voice of the Workers, the Prime Minister Robert Abela claimed that the decisions that the government is taking should not only serve to look after what we have today but should be the basis let our country attract new investments that offer more quality jobs and that pay better.
The prime minister reiterated that we are approaching another budget without new taxes and that he will continue to support the people, with a policy not of austerity, but that believes in the worker.
Dr. Robert Abela mentioned stability and sustainability, and here he mentioned how the workers and their families deserve more new spaces to even serve as couples after their work.
The prime minister pointed to various measures introduced by the government which incentivized work and strongly strengthened participation in the labor market, so much so that today, Malta is higher than the European average in in this regard, also as a result of support measures for families.
Prime Minister Abela noted how the UHM also contributed with its ideas in the measures intended to make work pay.
Dr. Abela also stressed the need to continue to support the strengthening of rights, training, and new opportunities so that one can move forward and improve the quality of one’s life.
“This is all that we wanted to safeguard with the decisions we took in the last months and which built on other big decisions we took since March 2020, in the face of unprecedented challenges”, said the prime minister and stressed on a strong social dialogue .
Here he mentioned the ideas that we all have to put on the table to grow more and that then we must have the courage to decide on them in order to continue to succeed as a country.
