111 new nurses join the Public Health service

111 new nurses started their work with the Public Health service earlier this week. Of them, 89 are young people who have just graduated from the University of Malta, while 22 graduated from the University of Northumbria.

During a visit to these new nurses at Mater Dei Hospital, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne stressed that the most important resource for the health service is the human resource. He reminded that in the last three years over 440 more nurses were recruited, immediately after their graduation from the local universities, and therefore he encouraged more young people who are interested in this profession to take the first step and start the their educational path in the field of nursing.

The Deputy Prime Minister Fearne wished them every success in this career which requires a great vocation, and encouraged them to continue specializing in different fields.
