The Cabinet has turned down a request for a pardon for Alfred Degiorgio and George Degiorgio.
They had asked for a Presidential Pardon in return for information about the murder.
In an official statement the government said;
“In accordance with the advice of the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police, the Cabinet of Ministers today decided to advise the President of the Republic not to grant the request for proclamation made on 4 April 2022 Alfred Degiorgio and George Degiorgio.
The decision of the Cabinet is not only based on the advice of the relevant institutions, but is also taken in the national interest and in the interest of the proper administration of justice”.
