The Malta Identity Agency is increasingly offering services that go beyond its offices and bring them into the comfort of people’s homes. Although Identity Malta’s offices have moved to more modern buildings in recent years, the agency has increased the range of services offered online and increased its presence in communities.
By collaborating with service.gov, customers who are unable to order certificates online can be served by one of the 22 regional service.gov centers spread across Malta.
The Chief Executive of Identità Malta Agency, Colonel Mark Mallia, explained that the agency recognizes the importance of serving the public in the most efficient way. Today, one can use one of the agency’s offices, or one of the service centers.gov.
Colonel Mallia reminded that one can notify the birth or death of a person online or even order a birth, death or marriage certificate online and choose to arrive by mail. Note that the response to the services provided online was positive, so much so that 60% of the certificates ordered last year, ie about 40,000 certificates, were made online through the site certificati.gov.mt.
Despite this, Identity Malta is aware that there are people who do not have digital knowledge or access, or who prefer to be served face to face. Therefore, those who wish to order a birth, death or marriage certificate can visit the new Public Registry office in Marsa or visit one of the 22 service.gov centers, spread all over Malta.
