Earlier today, Ambassador Lorenzo Vella participated at the exchange of views with the President of the Conference of INGOs, Gerhard Ermischer.
During his intervention, Ambassador Vella expressed Malta’s full support for the work done by the Conference as well as for the President’s strategic plan and call for greater transparency. He held that Malta views civil society as an expression of the commitment that citizens make to their community and to tackle the challenges facing our society.
Ambassador Vella also highlighted the need to continue strengthening the cooperation between the CoE and the Conference and stated that as members of the CoE we should all view civil society as complimentary to our democratic process and not a competition to it.
