The $10bn James Webb telescope, the successor to the Hubble Telescope, has blasted off from a launch pad in French Guiana on its mission to show the first stars to light up the Universe.
The James Webb Space Telescope is a space telescope developed by NASA with contributions from the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency.
