“We must not underestimate the importance of formation in trades and manufacturing as a strong sector in our country’s economy”, said President of Malta George Vella during a visit on Tuesday morning to the company Halmann Vella. He also referred to the need for respect towards workers and to maintain industrial harmony in the workplace.
President Vella spoke about this while noting with pleasure how the operation of this company has continued to evolve over the years so that during the last sixty-five years since the establishment of this company it has kept abreast of the demands of the market and the necessities of modern life.
He also expressed his appreciation for the help that Halmann Vella has always given to The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation and congratulated them on the quality and professionalism with which they operate.
In a few words on the occasion, the Chief Executive of Halmann Vella Mr Kevin Rapinett explained how the works on the extension of the group’s factory in Ħal Far are expected to start next year. Speaking about the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr Rapinett noted with satisfaction the coordinated efforts made by all employees to continue operations.
During this visit, President Vella had the opportunity to visit the factory and the showroom of the company, and he also met with the Directors and workers of Halmann Vella.
At the end of the visit, the President of Malta was presented with a marble sculpture by the artist Paul Scerri, artistic consultant and employee of the same company.
