Its work focuses particularly on supporting vulnerable children, families and adults, many of whom have previously benefited from its services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand for the Foundation\u2019s services remained steady and continued to grow compared to previous years. In 2025, the FSWS dealt with more than 27,000 cases, representing a 5% increase compared to 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This continued growth also reflects the public\u2019s confidence in the professionalism, accessibility and effectiveness of the Foundation\u2019s services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures were announced by Minister for Social Policy and Family Michael Falzon during the launch of the FSWS annual report for 2025. The report provides an overview of the assistance requested by individuals and families and how social workers respond to these needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe FSWS is becoming more accessible, and more clients are turning to the Foundation because they know it can offer support and an individualised, long-term plan, with the ultimate aim of achieving greater stability. We must remember that timely intervention can help a family or an individual rebuild their life,\u201d Minister Falzon said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60675\" style=\"width:252px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti.jpg 432w, http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti-300x208.jpg 300w, http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti-150x104.jpg 150w, http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti-218x150.jpg 218w, http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Alfred-Grixti-100x70.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">FSWS Chief Executive Officer Alfred Grixti <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FSWS Chief Executive Officer Alfred Grixti highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the Foundation, including the G\u0127abex Emergency Shelter for victims of domestic violence, the implementation of the <em>New Beginnings \u2013 Empowering Against Trafficking<\/em> project, and securing European Union funding for the <em>Second Chance<\/em> project, which supports vulnerable young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThroughout 2025, the Foundation continued to invest in service quality, staff development, digital transformation and evidence-based practice.
