Over the past decade, the festival has continued to grow year after year and has become one of the largest gastronomic events in Malta, welcoming thousands of Maltese, Gozitans, foreigners and tourists every year.

During the five days of the festival, the public will have the opportunity to taste over 1,000 different dishes from 42 international cuisines. At the same time, a prominent space will be given to Maltese cuisine and local products, with the aim of further promoting the quality, authenticity and value of Maltese produce.

The festival will bring together more than 100 exhibitors, including restaurants, producers, importers and leading brands in the food and beverage industry, and thus continues to offer an important platform for the promotion of local products and businesses.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply Anton Refalo said that festivals such as these are an important opportunity to place Maltese produce at the centre of the gastronomic experience and give it the prominence it deserves.

“The Malta International Food Festival is an important platform that not only celebrates the cuisines of the world, but also gives space and visibility to our local products. We have quality products that are the fruit of the work of Maltese farmers, ranchers, fishermen and producers, and it is our duty to continue to create opportunities for these to be known and appreciated by everyone. Through initiatives such as these we are continuing to strengthen the Maltese agri-food chain while promoting Malta as a high-level gastronomic destination,” said Minister Refalo.

While congratulating the organizers for organizing this event, which is much sought after by the public, for the tenth year, the Minister for Equality and Civil Rights Rosianne Cutajar expressed satisfaction with the Ministry’s renewed participation through the Directorate for Human Rights, which once again brought together a number of international communities present in our country to participate on the Pits in these days. She said that “the dining table is that place where everyone comes together and that human encounter takes place that is the basis of true integration, which is then reinforced by the various policies and services that we offer. This is particularly important in a diverse and multicultural society such as ours, where in a beautiful and relaxed environment such as here on the Pits we get to know each other and break down prejudices so that instead we treat everyone equally and with full respect.”

In addition to the culinary experience, the program will include daily musical performances, cultural performances, activities for the whole family, a dedicated children’s area and various other attractions that will make this festival one of the most anticipated appointments on the Maltese summer calendar.

The Malta International Food Festival continues to serve as an important platform for the promotion of Maltese produce and for the creation of new opportunities for local producers, operators and businesses, while strengthening Malta’s reputation as a gastronomic destination in the heart of the Mediterranean. The festival also provides an opportunity for different cultures and nations to share their culinary experiences and traditions in an event that unites people through food.

The festival will be open daily from 6:00 pm to midnight at the Floriana Pits. The Ministry invites the public to attend this event that combines the best of flavours, culture and entertainment, while continuing to give prominence to the quality products produced by Maltese farmers, ranchers, fishermen and producers.

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

The Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply is supporting the return of the Malta International Food Festival, which will be held between Wednesday 5 and Sunday 9 August 2026 at the Fosos tal-Floriana.
