Minister for Tourism Jo Etienne Abela visited the Floriana Pits where final preparations are underway for the eighteenth edition of the Isle of MTV Malta to be held tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isle of MTV Malta remains one of the most important international events in Malta’s tourist and cultural calendar, while continuing to strengthen the country’s profile as a modern and dynamic music destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s highly anticipated line-up includes internationally renowned artists Katy Perry and Afrojack. They will be joined by a host of local artists who will together deliver an unforgettable night of world-class performances and entertainment at the Floriana Pits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Abela explained that through the partnership between the Government of Malta, the Tourism Authority and MTV, the country continues to reach international audiences of millions of people, while promoting not only the event itself, but also everything that Malta and Gozo have to offer visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Isle of MTV Malta is not just an international concert. It is an investment in promoting Malta as a quality tourist destination, enhancing the country’s visibility in foreign markets and continuing to attract visitors seeking unique experiences. This is in line with our vision to continue building a sustainable tourism industry, based on quality rather than quantity, while creating more opportunities for the Maltese economy and businesses,” said Minister Abela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Abela also mentioned that in agreement with Gozo High Speed, the fast ferry service will also be extended until after the festival ends so that Gozitan youth can enjoy the evening to the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The continued success of Isle of MTV Malta is the fruit of strong collaboration between the Government, the Malta Tourism Authority, MTV and all the entities involved, and continues to consolidate Malta’s position as one of the Mediterranean’s leading destinations for international events,” concluded Minister Abela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MTA Chairman, Charles Mangion said that “the importance of the Isle of MTV is to attract a number of tourists who come specifically for this event which helps to make our country a destination of interest, but also to unite tourists with the Maltese through music. Through the international and local artists we have this year, we will be offering a mix of musical culture in a show for all those who will attend this event.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
