The Minister for Education and Sport, Byron Camilleri, visited the St. John’s SkolaSajf Centre in Marsaskala, where he met with the children, educators and workers who are delivering this service and closely followed the activities being organised as part of the SkolaSajf programm

SkolaSajf 2026 will be delivered through 54 centres, including 45 mainstream centres in Malta, five in Gozo and four Resource Centres, with the commitment of 2,761 educators, with an investment of €7.4 million.

Minister Byron Camilleri said that SkolaSajf remains one of the main services that support both children and families during the summer holidays.

“Through SkolaSajf we are continuing to invest in our children by offering them a less formal, safe and stimulating environment where they can learn, explore and develop their skills even during the summer holidays. At the same time, this service remains an important support for students and thousands of families, particularly for working parents. This investment is a testament to our commitment to continue providing quality services that respond to the needs of Maltese and Gozitan families,” said Minister Byron Camilleri.

For his part, the CEO of the Foundation for Educational Services (FES), Michael Bondin, stressed that during the eight weeks of SkolaSajf, students will enjoy a program full of activities. He said that almost 13,000 students, once again, showed their trust in SkolaSajf by choosing to be part of this adventure. Bondin explained that this year’s theme, “Reach for the Stars”, encourages students to achieve their ambitions through the activities and collaborations that will be organized during the program. He concluded by inviting the children to join SkolaSajf and enjoy this experience together.

With the theme “Reach for the Stars”, this year’s edition encourages children to explore their potential through a varied programme of non-formal activities that foster creativity, curiosity, confidence and teamwork. The programme is organised by the Foundation for Educational Services (FES) together with its partners.

The Minister thanked the Foundation for Educational Services, the educators and all the workers involved for their commitment to ensuring that SkolaSajf continues to offer a positive and quality experience to thousands of children across Malta and Gozo.

SkolaSajf 2026 will run until 11 September, with a break between 10 and 14 August. The main service is provided from Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 12:30pm, while in selected centres an extended service is also being offered between 7:00am and 8:30am as well as between 12:30pm and 5:30pm, in order to continue to support working parents.

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

12,634 children have started attending SkolaSajf 2026 in 54 centres across Malta and Gozo.
