After six consecutive years of concerts that recorded maximum attendance in Malta, BBC Radio 2 and the BBC Concert Orchestra will return to our country with what is considered their biggest major concert to date.<\/p>\n

For the seventh edition of the BBC Concert in our country, this year, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique show that will celebrate the music of two legendary groups, ABBA and the Bee Gees, in a spectacular one-night concert on the Floriana Trench.<\/p>\n

The concert on Saturday 4th July, hosted by renowned British television personality Rylan Clark, will bring together over 70 internationally renowned musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra, along with some of the best singers as well as local singer Kevin Paul Calleja. With a repertoire full of hits that have remained popular over the years, the evening promises a high-level musical experience and an atmosphere of entertainment for the whole family.<\/p>\n

Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela said that “international events of this level are an important part of our vision to continue diversifying Malta’s tourism product and strengthening the country’s position as a destination that offers quality experiences throughout the year.” Dr Abela said that thanks to an agreement reached, the Fast Ferry will continue to operate until after the Concert so that Gozitans can enjoy the concert to the end.<\/p>\n

Minister Abela reiterated that the fact that the BBC Concert Orchestra is once again choosing Malta for this spectacular concert is a testament to the confidence in our country as a destination capable of hosting international-level productions. \u201cThis concert not only offers a unique experience to the Maltese public and visitors, but also continues to generate economic activity and strengthen Malta’s profile on the international events scene\u201d, concluded Minister Jo Etienne Abela.<\/p>\n

For his part, MTA Chairman Charles Mangion said, \u201cWe are proud to be celebrating the seventh edition of the BBC Concert Orchestra concert in Malta. The ongoing collaboration between the Malta Tourism Authority and the BBC testifies to the confidence that exists in Malta as a destination capable of successfully hosting international-level productions of the highest quality.\u201d<\/p>\n
