Among the main interventions is the removal of the existing central structure to create a more open and accessible space, making the garden more suitable for the use of residents and the Local Council. In addition, the garden and the surrounding area will be given new paving, which will give a more modern and attractive look to the entire space. The project, which is being carried out by the Department of Public Works, also includes infrastructural works.<\/p>\n
Minister Alison Zerafa Civelli said that this project is part of the Government’s commitment to continue investing in quality public spaces that improve the daily lives of residents. Here, the Minister explained that the Government is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to our communities.<\/p>\n
“We believe that every locality should be equipped with quality public spaces, where families, children and the elderly can meet and spend time in a safe and beautiful environment. This investment in \u0126al G\u0127axaq is another example of how we are continuing to prioritize Local Councils and the needs of residents,” concluded Minister Zerafa Civelli.<\/p>\n
The Mayor of \u0126al G\u0127axaq Karl Boxall explained how when the works are completed, the project will provide a more attractive, accessible and functional public space which will improve the quality of the urban environment and be of benefit to both the Local Council and the residents, particularly those living in the garden area.<\/p>\n
The new design has been carefully planned to improve access for all, while adjustments have also been made to the paved walkways to improve the arrangement of spaces, public movement and visibility in the garden.<\/p>\n
The project also includes the installation of new benches, an energy-efficient lighting system, a CCTV system and the planting of new plants, which together will contribute to a safer, more comfortable and welcoming environment.<\/p>\n
