Message to the nation from Prime Minister Robert Abela

\nGreetings.
\nOn Saturday, the Gozitan and Maltese people had a choice before them.
\nA choice about the future they want our country to have.
\nWith clear determination, the people decided that they want to once again lend their trust to me and the team I lead.
\nThis is the first time in the history of our country that a political movement has been entrusted with an electoral mandate for the fourth consecutive time.
\nA historic choice, therefore, at a very important moment.
\nA moment where, while the challenges around us continue to increase, the will of our people is becoming stronger to have a better quality of life in a better Malta.
\nThis was precisely the inspiration for the electoral manifesto that we presented to the people.
\nAn electoral manifesto that has now become our work programme as a Government.
\nA comprehensive program to be with you at every step of life.
\nA life that we want to make easier, more beautiful and better.
\nIn recent years, our country has made an unprecedented economic leap.
\nOur economic strength is allowing us to be a shield for our people.
\nWe will remain focused on continuing to provide certainty, stability and peace of mind to protect you, the families, the heart of this country.
\nIn the coming time, we must keep our country’s economic engine running so that the proposals you have given us a strong mandate
\ncan be implemented and improve your well-being and that of your loved ones.
\nWe will continue to make the necessary changes and investments so that this economic engine continues to evolve and continue to be
\nthe best in Europe.
\nOnly then will we be able to deliver the strong social investment programme that our people deserve.
\nWhoever you are and whatever stage of life you are in, we want to give you the best possible life.
\nWe want to give you more time for yourself and your family.
\nTogether we have dreamed of great things as a united country and when we were like that, we always achieved it.
\nNow we want to rise to the next level.
\nWe have launched a holistic plan for our country, the Malta 2050 Vision.
\nA plan with several pillars and which includes major programmes:
\n\u2022 The regeneration of the Grand Harbour.
\n\u2022 The Malta in Motion plan.
\n\u2022 The strategy for the energy sector.
\n\u2022 Strong investment in the public health system.
\n\u2022 And Gozo, an island of villages.
\nAll of this was included in the electoral manifesto.
\nAn ambitious program, which my team and I will be able to carry out together, so that we can all write the next chapter
\nof the Malta we love so much.
\nAnd we will remain a successful country if we remain united and if we continue to believe in Malta.
\nI believe in you because you are Malta.
