The Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works announced that over the last two years, an extensive programme of work has been carried out by Infrastructure Malta which has led to a thousand interventions being carried out on roads across Malta, as part of the ongoing commitment to strengthening the country’s infrastructure and improving people’s quality of life.<\/p>\n

This work included a wide range of interventions, from major projects where roads were completely rebuilt to resurfacing works. At the same time, a number of works were carried out on underground services and bottlenecks were addressed in a number of strategic areas. These interventions mean safer roads, a more comfortable journey and more efficiency in daily travel. An important part of this work was the close collaboration with local councils, so that in addition to arterial roads, work was carried out on residential roads in various localities around Malta.<\/p>\n

These roads were completed at the same time as work continued on other major infrastructure projects, including Msida Creek, Bu\u0121ibba Square and the extensive regeneration of the Gulf. These are initiatives that are transforming key areas and addressing challenges that have been pending for many years.<\/p>\n

Throughout the process, great importance was given to communication with the public, with regular information on the works and their progress. This led to greater cooperation from residents, while strengthening trust in the projects being carried out.<\/p>\n

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett said that “The achievement of one thousand roads in two years represents an important milestone, but also a foundation for further investment in the future and our commitment remains to continue building a modern, sustainable and planned infrastructure, which meets the needs of the country. This work is the result of the collective commitment of various professionals and workers, including architects, contractors and technical teams, who are contributing every day to delivering projects for the good of the community.”<\/p>\n
