{"id":57337,"date":"2026-04-30T15:50:50","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T14:50:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/?p=57337"},"modified":"2026-04-30T15:50:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T14:50:50","slug":"km-malta-airlines-launches-special-election-fares-and-extra-flights-for-2026-general-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/livenewsmalta.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/30\/km-malta-airlines-launches-special-election-fares-and-extra-flights-for-2026-general-election\/","title":{"rendered":"KM Malta Airlines Launches Special Election Fares and Extra Flights for 2026 General Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of preparations for the General Election to be held in Malta on Saturday 30th<br \/>\nof May 2026, KM Malta Airlines announced the introduction of special election fares<br \/>\nand additional flights to facilitate travel for eligible voters wishing to return to Malta<br \/>\nto participate in the voting.<\/p>\n<p>Bookings will open for sale from 04th May to 30th May 2026 and reservations can<br \/>\nonly be made through the dedicated KM Malta Airlines General Election Call Centre<br \/>\nnumber +356 2141 8118, during the hours of 08:00-20:00 Monday to Sunday.<br \/>\nBookings are subject to availability.<\/p>\n<p>Travel will be permitted during the period 20th May to 3rd June 2026, with the first<br \/>\ninbound date into Malta being 20th May and the final being 30th May, and the first<br \/>\nreturn date out of Malta being 23rd May 2026 and the final being 03rd June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Persons eligible for these Special Election Fares are those whose name appears in<br \/>\nthe Electoral Registers published by the Electoral Commission, including their direct<br \/>\ndependants (a spouse or child or stepchild under the age of eighteen). Those<br \/>\neligible will be able to avail of a special election fare of \u20ac90 return (inclusive of all<br \/>\ntaxes and charges) in Economy Plus (incl. small bag, 10kg cabin bag, and 20kg<br \/>\nchecked bag).<\/p>\n<p>Infants who have not reached their second birthday may travel for a<br \/>\nfee of \u20ac9 (inclusive of all taxes and charges) provided they do not occupy a seat.<br \/>\nTravel will be permitted on scheduled KM Malta Airlines operated flights only and all<br \/>\ntravel must take place into and out of the same city. Tickets will be non-refundable<br \/>\nand no change in travel dates is permitted.<\/p>\n<p>KM Malta Airlines also announced that it will operate extra flights to Brussels and<br \/>\nLondon Gatwick on the following dates:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Sunday 31st May: Malta \/ London Gatwick \/ Malta (pm)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Monday 1st June: Malta \/ London Gatwick \/ Malta (pm)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Tuesday 2nd June: Malta \/ London Gatwick \/ Malta (pm)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Monday 1st June: Malta \/ Brussels \/ Malta (am)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Tuesday 2nd June: Malta \/ Brussels \/ Malta (am)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those eligible voters who qualify for these special fares, and who have already made<br \/>\nan alternative booking with KM Malta Airlines for travel between 20th May and 03rd<br \/>\nJune 2026, may request either a full refund of their existing ticket or to change their<br \/>\ntickets to different dates of travel at no charge but subject to the payment of any<br \/>\ndifference in fare.
