Minister Anton Refalo, together with Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said, visited the final preparations for the Agri Fair 2026, which will be held at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, Ta’ Qali between Friday 17 and Sunday 19 April 2026.<\/p>\n

During this visit, the Minister and the Parliamentary Secretary were informed about the extensive progress being made in order to stage this national event to the highest standards, with broad participation from various stakeholders in the agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and food industry sectors.<\/p>\n

Agri Fair 2026 will officially open on Friday 17th April 2026 with a visit from Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, and will include a three-day programme full of educational activities, conferences, discussions, exhibitions and cultural and gastronomic initiatives.<\/p>\n

During Agri Fair 2026, among others, there will be the launch of a White Paper on the future of agriculture, sessions on fishing and aquaculture, discussions on innovation and new technologies in the agricultural sector, as well as activities for families and young people that promote knowledge about local produce and Maltese rural heritage.<\/p>\n

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo said that the Agri Fair is an important national platform that brings together producers, operators in the sector and the general public, while continuing to strengthen the Government’s vision for a more modern, sustainable and competitive agricultural and maritime sector.<\/p>\n

He stressed that events such as this clearly demonstrate the continuous investment in quality and innovation, and the commitment to strengthening opportunities for farmers, fishermen and all operators involved.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said said that the Agri Fair 2026 will be an educational and interactive experience for all families, and an opportunity for the public to get closer to the sectors that form an important part of Malta’s economy and identity. She added that the Agri Fair has become part of the Maltese and Gozitan calendar and attracts thousands of people. In the last edition, around 60,000 people visited the fair.<\/p>\n

“This activity is a celebration of Maltese culture and an important platform to increase awareness of the sacrifice and daily work of farmers and fishermen, while continuing to promote local produce. I invite Maltese and Gozitan families to join this activity in order to celebrate together the valuable work of the agricultural and fishing sector, while continuing to encourage younger generations to appreciate local produce more,” concluded the Parliamentary Secretary.<\/p>\n
