The Madonna of Loreto Square Regeneration Project in G\u0127ajnsielem, Gozo, will begin<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Public spaces in Gozo continue to be improved<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri announced that the regeneration project of the Madonna ta’ Loreto Square in G\u0127ajnsielem will commence, with the aim of improving the urban environment, increasing the level of comfort for the public and enhancing the general aesthetics of the locality. This project, funded by the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, will be carried out in collaboration with the G\u0127ajnsielem Local Council and the Parish of the same locality.<\/p>\n

Minister Clint Camilleri stated that squares are the meeting place and the centre of the village. \u201cThis project is part of the strategy for Gozo: Island of Villages and the Malta 2050 Vision to create modern, accessible and high-quality public spaces for the entire public. We are investing in an environment that is not only visually beautiful, but also functional, safe and sustainable for all. This regeneration will breathe new life into the square and strengthen the social core of the locality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The works will begin with a site preparation phase, which includes all the necessary preliminary arrangements, site protection and access coordination, in order to create a safe and adequate environment for the implementation of the project. At the same time, the necessary permits, technical surveys and verifications will be carried out to ensure that the design and execution are of a high standard. The project also includes the removal of existing elements that are in poor condition or that are not compatible with the new vision of the square. This will be followed by excavation and ground preparation works, including interventions related to underground services and supporting structures.<\/p>\n

Works will be carried out to ensure that the square is sustainable and resistant to time. An important part of the project is the installation of new paving with natural materials and high-quality finishes, which will improve both the appearance and accessibility of the space. The square will be equipped with new urban furniture and public facilities, including benches, bollards and other elements that improve the use and organization of the space. A modern bus shelter with a modular design and glass structure will also be installed, contributing to a more coordinated infrastructure. There will also be a water feature that will enhance the character of the square. In addition, improvements will be made to the lighting systems and electrical services, as well as the installation of CCTV systems to increase security.<\/p>\n

The project also includes environmental beautification through plants and soft landscaping, accompanied by irrigation systems, in order to create a more vibrant and sustainable space. The works will be concluded with final interventions, testing and commissioning to ensure that the square is fully operational and integrated.<\/p>\n

Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that the Government remains committed to continuing to invest in projects that improve the quality of life of residents and promote sustainable development and modern planning.<\/p>\n
