Flights<br \/>\nare scheduled to operate from 30th May 2026, complementing the airline\u2019s broader summer network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to introduce Palermo as a new destination within our Summer 2026<br \/>\nschedule,\u201d said David Curmi, Chairman of KM Malta Airlines. \u201cAt present, Palermo is not<br \/>\nserved by direct flights from Malta, and this new route expands the range of destinations<br \/>\navailable to the Maltese travelling public while also creating additional opportunities to<br \/>\nattract inbound visitors to Malta. Sicily and Malta share strong cultural, economic and<br \/>\ntourism ties, and we are confident this service will further strengthen connectivity between<br \/>\nour two islands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe warmly welcome the launch of the new service between Palermo and Malta announced<br \/>\nby KM Malta Airlines\u201d, says Gianfranco Battisti, CEO of Gesap, the managing company of<br \/>\nPalermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport. &#8220;This is a strategic route that further<br \/>\nstrengthens the role of Palermo airport as a hub in the Mediterranean and expands mobility<br \/>\nopportunities between two territories that are historically and culturally very close. This<br \/>\nconnection helps to support the growth of international traffic at the airport and to<br \/>\nencourage new tourist and commercial flows between Sicily and Malta, concludes Battisti, in line with the path of development and progressive opening to international markets that we at Gesap are pursuing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palermo, the capital of Sicily, offers visitors a vibrant mix of history, culture, and gastronomy.<br \/>\nTravellers can explore the city\u2019s historic landmarks such as the Palermo Cathedral and the\u00a0 \u00a0 Norman Palace, wander through street markets like Ballar\u00f2 and Vucciria, or enjoy the city\u2019s<br \/>\nrenowned street food scene.
