\u00a0The Government will provide a payment of \u20ac500 to parents of children attending Secondary Schools and who are in years 10 and 11, to encourage digital use related to the educational sector.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

This measure complements last year\u2019s measure when approximately 20,000 digital devices were provided to students in years 4, 7, 8 and 9. This measure is also part of the vision of the Education Strategy 2024-2030 and above all linked to the Malta Vision 2050 whose third pillar addresses resilience and modern education, in response to challenges such as technological change.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Details about this measure were given by the Minister for Social Policy and Children\u2019s Rights, Michael Falzon together with the Minister for Education, Sports, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Michael Falzon announced that there are a total of 7,483 parents or guardians who will benefit and who between them represent 7,740 students.<\/span><\/span> This is being done with an investment of \u20ac3.87 million.<\/span><\/span> \u201cThis is the tangible policy that is reaching our families, because we believe that we can have more quality jobs in the future, provided that we invest more in early education. With us everyone knows where they stand,\u201d stated Minister Michael Falzon.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Clifton Grima said that this measure is another concrete investment in students and their future.<\/span><\/span> He said that through this \u20ac500 support, families will be able to invest in digital devices that will further enhance the educational experience of students.<\/span><\/span> Minister Grima said, \u201cIn an increasingly digital world, it is important to ensure that every student has access to the necessary tools to learn, develop their skills and look to the future with confidence.\u201d<\/span><\/span> Those entitled to this measure will receive a text message (SMS) or an information letter.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
