Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri, visited the company Tastees Manufacturing Ltd, in Santa Venera.<\/p>\n
Established in 1969, Tastees Manufacturing Ltd remains a household name in Malta, most notably for the production of the iconic Twistees snack, among other snacks. For over five decades, the company has maintained a strong presence in the local market while continuing to expand its operations to meet growing demand.<\/p>\n
In recent years, with the assistance of INDIS Malta, this company has developed an extension to its existing factory. This expansion was driven by a substantial increase in demand for its products, both locally and internationally.<\/p>\n
Over the last five years, the production of this private company has increased by 103%, a significant growth achieved through strategic investment in new machinery and the strengthening of export operations.<\/p>\n
Company representatives explained how the modernization of equipment led to greater efficiency, as it allowed the company to increase production capacity while maintaining quality standards.<\/p>\n
Tastees Manufacturing Ltd has also benefited from the support of Malta Enterprise through the investment assistance scheme, as well as assistance from Trade Malta for participation in international trade fairs. These initiatives have helped the company to continue to expand its presence abroad and promote Maltese products in foreign markets.<\/p>\n
During this visit, the company’s management expressed satisfaction with the numerous measures and initiatives offered by the Government through various public entities, the dedication and professionalism of its employees and the continued trust of its clients.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister praised the company’s resilience, innovation and contribution to the manufacturing sector in Malta, as Tastees Manufacturing Ltd remains a clear example of how local industry can grow through strategic investment, Government support and a dedicated workforce.<\/p>\n
Vision Malta 2050, our country’s strategic plan for the next twenty-five years, identifies sectors such as manufacturing as central to our country’s long-term competitiveness. This vision also mentions support for companies in the manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Prime Minister Abela and Minister Schembri toured the facilities and met with the company’s employees.<\/p>\n
