In Gozo alone, a massive investment is being made in this area, not only with what we have done in the Rabat Educational Complex, which is the only one of its kind and in which we have invested €18 million, but also in the schools scattered across the island”.

Minister Clint Camilleri stated that “we are continuing to make a strong investment in education in Gozo, after completing the new primary school and the extension and renovation of the middle school in Rabat, we are now also undergoing extensive renovation work at Kerċem primary school, among other schools. As we did at the Nadur school, here too we have thought of solutions so that we can allow children to learn in the same environment while work is underway in the existing building. During the next year, the extensive renovation and beautification will be completed, including new furniture, so that from the 2026 scholastic year, students attending Kerċem primary school will begin learning in a modern and completely renovated school.”

The Primary School in Kercem forms part of the Gozo College, is located in a two-storey building that was built in 1921 and is spread over approximately 1,200 square metres.

In addition to the complete beautification of the school, the project includes the redesign of the open and recreational spaces, as well as the creation of new spaces for the teaching of extra-curricular subjects. The project will address the accessibility of the building to comply with the law. The outdoor recreational areas will be transformed to include, among others, non-slip concrete and artificial turf surfaces.

As part of the project, new services will be installed, including new electricity, water and sewage services, security cameras, internet connectivity, an alarm, and fire safety services. Energy-efficient measures will be introduced in the building as required by law.

Photos: MEYR/MGP

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

The Kercem Primary School, part of Gozo College, is undergoing a complete transformation with an investment of €3.2 million in an infrastructural project that will see the extensive beautification of the existing school.
