Prime Minister Robert Abela visits the Maypole bakery in Tal-\u0126andaq and notes the skill of the Maltese entrepreneur who will continue to be supported by a strong economy<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a visit to the Maypole Group factory in Tal-\u0126andaq in Qormi, Prime Minister Robert Abela noted the joint investment made between three Maltese companies to establish an academy that organizes professional courses for bakers, thus ensuring that this traditional craft, even in our country, continues to flourish.<\/p>\n

In fact, Maypole joined forces with Cassar Shipyards and St. James Hospital to establish the EVA academy and is offering courses after partnering with the City of Glasgow College to certify the course offered in our country.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri, Prime Minister Robert Abela held a meeting with the leadership of the Maypole Group where he assured that with a strong economy, our country will continue to support investment, including local investment, to continue generating more wealth.<\/p>\n

While meeting with the workers, the Maypole management explained to the Prime Minister how the Group had made a major investment by purchasing an entire building in which the Maypole bakery factory operates. An investment of \u20ac11 million, with another \u20ac2 million spent on converting the ground floor of the building to serve the operation.<\/p>\n

Maypole is also investing \u20ac2.5 million in new machinery, while over the past seven years, Maypole has continued to invest in opening more stores to meet market demand.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister wished the Group every success and noted the resilience, courage and determination of the Maltese entrepreneur who has skillfully continued to expand and increase wealth in the Maltese economy. He said that a strong economy that in recent days has even been certified by the International Monetary Fund as one that does not require annual surveillance, we can now look forward to continuing to focus on quality. This is against the backdrop that our country will now have the Malta 2050 Vision where we have the luxury of choosing the investment that suits our country, aligned with digital and sustainable core values.<\/p>\n
