In an initiative now in its sixth year, Law Enforcement personnel reaffirmed their social commitment when they collected and distributed food supplies collected during a solidarity initiative in various residential homes across Malta. They were also joined by Minister Byron Camilleri.<\/p>\n

This initiative, which was carried out in collaboration between various entities within the Ministry for the Interior, Security and Employment, aims to help those most in need, while continuing to strengthen the values \u200b\u200bof solidarity, generosity and social responsibility. The selected locations are children’s homes, centres that assist victims of domestic violence such as Dar Milja, Dar Sagra Familja, Sisters at Dar San \u0120u\u017cepp in \u0126a\u017c-\u017babbar and Sisters of the Ursulines in Tal-Piet\u00e0. Assistance was also provided to the Peace Laboratory in \u0126al Far led by Father Dijonisju Mintoff.<\/p>\n

Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment Byron Camilleri praised this initiative and thanked all workers for their commitment, saying that “This is an initiative that goes beyond the daily duties of law enforcement. It is clear testimony to the heart and sense of solidarity that these women and men carry with them, not only in protecting the security of the country, but also in protecting the dignity and well-being of those who need our help the most.”<\/p>\n

The minister added that these gestures continue to show that law enforcement officers are an integral part of the community and fully embrace the human values \u200b\u200bon which Maltese society is built.<\/p>\n

The Ministry for the Interior, Security and Employment thanked all those who contributed to the food collection and the residential home administrations for their continuous work, while reiterating the importance of these solidarity initiatives continuing year after year.<\/p>\n
