This bridge will connect the two sides of Msida in a safe manner and offer better access for those using public transport.

This development was announced during a meeting that the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, Chris Bonett, had with the recently elected Junior College Student Council. This comes after the student organisation Pulse had listed the need for this bridge in its electoral manifesto. Minister Bonett discussed the importance of the project with the students and confirmed that this bridge will be implemented as part of the work currently underway by Infrastructure Malta.

Minister Bonett stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue with the entire community, including students. He said that, “students can be important catalysts for change and as a Government we are committed to continuing to offer sustainable and reliable alternatives that encourage active mobility.” He explained how the bridge will drastically improve pedestrian safety, enhance connectivity, while eliminating the current traffic lights.

The President of the Junior College Student Council, Amjad Zina, explained how the council immediately began its work to make this proposal a reality. He welcomed the fact that this development took place in a short time and said that he looks forward to seeing the project become a reality for the benefit of all students.

The new pedestrian bridge will complement the Msida Creek project, which will create more open spaces, increase pedestrian routes and offer better accessibility for the public. This step reflects the Government’s vision for a safer, more modern and people-friendly infrastructure.

Photo (MTIP)

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

The Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works has announced that a new pedestrian bridge will be built in Msida to improve mobility for hundreds of students and residents who cross this area daily.
