More than 280,000 workers have started receiving another grant for the eighth consecutive year. This is a check for workers so that the Government continues to reward diligence. A grant of between \u20ac60 and \u20ac140 for workers who were in employment in 2023. In total, for this grant, over a period of eight years, the Government will have invested just over \u20ac158 million.<\/p>\n

This grant is additional to the investment being made in workers with the highest tax reduction rates for all workers. A tax cut for all workers which means that at least every worker does not pay tax on the first \u20ac1,000 per month they earn.<\/p>\n

The Government has also announced a Budget for next year in which it will further reduce tax for working parents, whereby a family with two parents and two children with a salary of up to \u20ac30,000 per parent will not pay a cent in tax from 2028 for a quarter of a century. Working parents, even with one child, will benefit greatly from the tax reduction. In fact, those with one child will not pay tax on the first \u20ac1,500 per month they earn and those with two children will not pay tax on the first \u20ac2,500 per month they earn.<\/p>\n

The Government has continued to protect the interests of workers and families at a time when countries beyond Malta are facing unprecedented challenges and Governments in Europe are being forced to impose austerity. On the other hand, as a result of a strong economy that provides a guarantee for our children, the Maltese Government led by Prime Minister Robert Abela is continuing to incentivize the labour sector in favour of creating quality and profitable careers. In fact, the 2026 Budget will also incentivize businesses by introducing schemes that subsidize up to 80% of wage increases, up to \u20ac960 per year, which employers give to workers who have been working with them for more than four years in Gozo and the same for workers in companies in Malta with a subsidy of up to 60% of the wage increase, up to a maximum of \u20ac780 per year.<\/p>\n

The Government claims that it will continue to reward the hard work of workers with measures aimed at continuing to increase their income, as they are the main contributors to the success of Malta.<\/p>\n
