The European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) organised the 2025 Grants Ceremony where more than \u20ac17 million in European funds were allocated to 195 projects in Malta under the Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps programmes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Minister for European Funds and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, praised Malta\u2019s strong performance in absorbing European funds, stressing that these projects will support inclusive education, vocational training, the development of digital and green skills, and the active participation of young people in society.<\/span><\/span> \u201cThese investments reflect Malta\u2019s commitment to European values \u200b\u200band lifelong learning. Through the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, we are making a positive impact on thousands of Maltese citizens,\u201d said Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He also announced that EUPA will strengthen its role in supporting Malta\u2019s access to funds managed directly by the European Commission, through a dedicated team and desk.<\/span><\/span> This initiative will help Malta attract more resources, support ambitious projects, and align national priorities with European priorities.<\/span><\/span> Erasmus+ is driven by four horizontal priorities: Inclusion and Diversity, Digital Transformation, Environment and Climate Action, and Democratic Participation.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The implementation in Malta reflects these values, with significant progress in reaching the aforementioned groups, promoting new skills and fostering active European citizenship.<\/span><\/span> The Minister concluded by thanking the beneficiaries, partners, and EUPA staff for their commitment to making a difference in learning, inclusion, and innovation in Malta.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The conference was also addressed by the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for European Funds and Electoral Programme Implementation, Jonathan Vassallo, and the National Coordinator of EUPA, Raphael Scerri.<\/span><\/span> Both reiterated the importance of European funds continuing to be utilized efficiently in order to have a real impact on the educational community and society at large.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
