He explained that, “Sir Arturo Mercieca Road is an example of how the projects we are carrying out in Gozo are not just tarmac works, but a long-term investment in the quality of life of our residents. By strengthening the sewage, water and electricity systems, we are ensuring that the infrastructure is modern, safe and sustainable for years to come.”

In fact, several interventions were carried out in this project, including a complete replacement of the drainage system to ensure greater efficiency and reduce the likelihood of future problems. A new water main was also installed to strengthen the main water network in Rabat and improve the supply to the area, and a new system of rainwater pipes was built. In addition, extensive work was also carried out on the lighting systems, where three low tension cables were installed to strengthen the power supply in the area, while old cables that were no longer in use were completely removed. Finally, the road was rebuilt from the ground up and given a new surface that offers a safer driving experience.

Currently, various interventions and road works are underway on the island of Gozo in order to strengthen essential networks and continue to improve the quality of road infrastructure.

Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that this project forms part of a wider programme of modernisation of roads and essential services in Gozo, which aims to improve the quality of life and continue to strengthen the island’s infrastructure.

Photo (MGP)

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

Sir Arturo Mercieca Road in Victoria has been completed with tarmac and reopened to traffic following the extensive works and improvements carried out on this road.
