As the Rabat community in the area of the Chapel of St Catherine (Tad-Da\u0127la) celebrates the feast, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg, together with the Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works, Omar Farrugia, inaugurated the regeneration of the area adjacent to the chapel\u2019s parvis, as well as new facilities.<\/p>\n

In recent months, the Department of Public Works carried out significant works on the facilities next to this chapel. These facilities will support the surrounding community in hosting various activities throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Ian Borg thanked the Public Works Department and all individuals and organisations who worked together to complete this project. \u201cSuch initiatives foster greater unity and collaboration within the community, while helping to preserve the unique cultural heritage of our localities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary Secretary Omar Farrugia highlighted that the dedication and workmanship of the Department of Public Works have enabled the Rabat community to enjoy improved and higher-quality facilities, allowing them to continue serving the community in the best possible way. He also noted that, over the past year, such efforts have intensified among several religious and voluntary organizations, with the aim that Public Works and the Government continue to provide support to voluntary groups and volunteers who dedicate their free time to society at large.<\/p>\n
