The award is presented by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and is based entirely on verified passenger feedback.<\/p>\n<p>The APEX Five StarTM and Four StarTM Airline Awards are the only global airline honours determined solely through neutral, third-party passenger insights gathered via APEX\u2019s partnership with TripIt\u00ae from Concur\u00ae, the world\u2019s most widely used travel-organising app.<\/p>\n<p>For the 2026 Awards, over one million PNR-verified flights were rated by passengers across more than 600 airlines worldwide using a five-star scale.<br \/>\nThese ratings were independently certified by a professional external auditing company to ensure integrity and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>This year, APEX raised its ratings criteria significantly, limiting APEX Five StarTM recognition to the top 40 airlines worldwide \u2014 less than 7% of all airlines rated. The APEX Four StarTM designation recognises the next 50 airlines globally, representing just 8% of airlines worldwide, including the top 10 low-cost carriers.
