One of the last structures that will form the flyover in Msida Creek was successfully installed, in less than ten months since this project began.<\/span><\/span> This milestone marks another important step forward in one of the largest infrastructure projects currently underway in the country.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Weighing over 45 tonnes and measuring over 25 metres in length, the work that was carried out a few hours ago required extensive logistical coordination between various entities and companies with the aim of minimising inconvenience to those who frequent this area.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett explained that the Msida Creek project is progressing at a fast and efficient pace, so much so that the new flyover is expected to open to traffic by the end of this year, as scheduled.<\/span><\/span> He reiterated that this project represents not only a substantial improvement in connectivity, but will offer new public spaces in the heart of this locality while addressing the problem of flooding.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are witnessing a national-scale infrastructure project being implemented by Maltese companies, who are not only carrying out high-quality work, but are also clearly demonstrating the talent, dedication and technological capabilities that we have in our country,\u201d said Minister Bonett. He thanked the public, in particular the residents of Msida, for their continued cooperation in ensuring that this project is completed and can be enjoyed by all.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Steve Ellul, Chief Executive of Infrastructure Malta, said that apart from the work on the flyover which is now entering its final phase, extensive work is underway on other areas of this project.<\/span><\/span> \u201cWe will continue at this pace to deliver this project to the people as soon as possible,\u201d concluded Steve Ellul.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For the next phase, Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli (the lane in the direction of Birkirkara) will be temporarily closed on Monday 1 September from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.<\/span><\/span> This temporary closure is necessary to safely deliver the next girder to the work site.<\/span><\/span> Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes while following the direction of Transport Malta officers who will be on site to guarantee safety and traffic management.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
