Malta is once again hosting the filming of another international production as the action series \u2018Has Fallen\u2019 began filming last May and is expected to continue until the end of September.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Minister for Culture, Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici, and Film Commissioner Johann Grech, met with the crew, actors and even the artistic team during the filming of this series.<\/span><\/span> Malta is playing a major role by hosting a substantial part of the entire production (47 percent of it), with certain iconic locations appearing in the series including the Ta\u2019 Qali national stadium, the AFM training grounds in Pembroke and the Kordin prison.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Bonnici explained how this international production is continuing to put Malta\u2019s name on a global level and is also creating new job opportunities for the local creative community.<\/span><\/span> \u201cThe Government is committed to attracting more projects of this calibre, which represent a direct investment in the economy and skills of our country. On this production, 166 Maltese and Gozitan crews will be part of this experience,\u201d said Minister Bonnici.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Film Commissioner, Johann Grech said, \u201cProductions like these are important not only for our economy, and for the image of our country, but because they serve as an opportunity to continue with the upskilling of Maltese and Gozitan crews.\u201d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Written by Howard Overman, directed by David Caffrey and Alice Troughton, the series stars actress Ritu Arya, better known for \u2018Umbrella Academy\u2019, and actor Tewfik Jallab, known for the series \u2018Dark Hearts\u2019.<\/span><\/span> The story follows MI6 officers who are actively investigating a terrorist criminal organization in a European city.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
