The solar farm at the Lapsi Reverse Osmosis Plant, with 888 PV panels, is now successfully connected to the electricity grid.<\/p>\n
This was announced by Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli who visited the site together with Water Services Corporation (WSC) CEO Karl Cilia, where it was also explained that this project is part of WSC\u2019s ongoing Green Bonds initiatives, aimed at enhancing Malta\u2019s renewable infrastructure while reducing the corporation\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n
With an investment of \u20ac600,000 financed by green bonds, this solar power installation covers a roof area of 3,300m\u00b2 and includes 888 photovoltaic panels (PVs), each with a capacity of 580 Wp. The system, with a total capacity of 515 kWp, is set to generate approximately 820,000 kWh of clean energy annually. This output is enough to power around 190 households per year, significantly reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to the ongoing transformation of WSC\u2019s operations into a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.<\/p>\n
