Grape harvest season opens for wine production<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo officially opened the grape harvest season for wine production.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

As always, the harvest began with the early varieties Chardonnay and Moscato, and is expected to continue with the other varieties.<\/span><\/span> Minister Refalo said that the grape harvest is an important step that reminds us of the value of farmers whose work makes Maltese and Gozitan wines distinct and appreciated products.<\/span><\/span> He also noted that, despite the fact that each year brings its own circumstances, the final product continues to stand out in its quality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis season is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our farmers who work every day to give us the best of what our land has to offer. Maltese and Gozitan wine is not only an agricultural product, but part of our identity as a country and a much-appreciated attraction for tourists who visit us,\u201d said Anton Refalo.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The minister added that the Government, through the new Directorate of Research and Advisory Services within the Ministry and the Agriconnect service, is continuing to offer support and advice based on research so that farmers are always equipped with information and tools to strengthen their competitiveness and resilience.<\/span><\/span> \u201cThis support is essential to preserve and continue to improve this sector which contributes not only to our economy, but also to Maltese identity and culture,\u201d said Minister Refalo.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The minister concluded by thanking all the farmers and producers involved in the wine production process, while wishing them a successful harvest season.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
