National Patient Safety Alert: Precautionary Class I Recall of<\/em><\/strong> Ozempic<\/strong>\u00ae Batch Number – PP5N682::RN287 \u2013 Malta<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Marketing Authorisation Holder, Novo Nordisk\u00ae has alerted the Malta Medicines Authority that one (1) pack of Ozempic\u00ae 1mg solution for injection in pre-filled pen from batch number PP5N682::RN287 is suspected to be possibly falsified.<\/p>\n

As a precautionary measure based on the report of Novo Nordisk\u00ae, a patient-level recall\u00a0of\u00a0Ozempic\u00ae 1mg solution for injection in pre-filled pen with the following batch number and expiry date is being carried out. This recall applies to this batch only.<\/p>\n

Batch Number\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PP5N682::RN287 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Expiry Date\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 02\/2027<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are in possession of Ozempic\u00ae 1mg solution for injection in pre-filled pen belonging\u00a0 to this batch (refer to attached photo):<\/p>\n

  1. Stop using the affected product<\/li>\n
  2. Contact your pharmacy to verify the batch<\/li>\n
  3. Return the affected pack to the pharmacy from where the pack was purchased<\/li>\n
  4. Speak to your pharmacist or medical practitioner to seek continuation of treatment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Superintendent of Public Health as the Licencing Authority with the assistance of the Malta Medicines Authority are actively working with the relevant stakeholders to safeguard any possible risk to public health.<\/p>\n
