Lejla Sajfija fil-Park returned for its fourth edition at San Klement Park in \u0126a\u017c-\u017babbar. Organised by the Sustainable Development Directorate, this event offered a meaningful opportunity for the public to connect with nature and deepen their understanding of sustainability.<\/p>\n

Attendees enjoyed a varied programme that included interactive stands hosted by a wide range of organisations, along with sports activities. Health and wellness were a key focus, with information on balanced diets, healthy lifestyles, and on-site health checks being provided.<\/p>\n

Families explored community and youth services, as well as security and enforcement entities, and engaged with the public through exhibitions and hands-on activities. Participants were also informed about the latest developments and opportunities related to the EU. Meanwhile, engaging storytelling and live experiments immersed audiences in exploring scientific principles.<\/p>\n

Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness, Miriam Dalli, expressed her satisfaction that year after year, public participation continues to grow. \u201cPublic events like this are being organised to encourage people to reconnect with and appreciate our green spaces. Through these public events, we not only raise awareness about sustainability but also foster a shared responsibility to protect and enhance these natural environments for future generations\u201d, added Minister Dalli.<\/p>\n

Francine Pace Caruana, Director for Sustainable Development within the Ministry, said that \u201cthis initiative plays a key role in raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals and underscores Malta\u2019s recent engagement at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the presentation of Malta\u2019s Second Voluntary National Review, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable development at both national and global levels.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entities within the same Ministry, such as WasteServ, Project Green, the Energy and Water Agency, Ambjent Malta, Circular Economy Malta, the Environment and Resources Authority, and Saving Our Blue, provided practical information on reducing waste, conserving water, and protecting Malta\u2019s natural habitats.<\/p>\n
