Malta nominates two initiatives for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards;<\/span><\/span> one entity received the National Honorary Mention Certificate A ceremony for the National Business Support Award was held this morning, honouring entities and initiatives that are making a significant contribution to the development of businesses in Malta.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, who said that over the past twelve years, the Government has remained committed to continuing to be of assistance to businesses, especially when they themselves face challenges.<\/span><\/span> He explained that regulations should not continue to increase the administrative burden, but should be designed in an intelligent manner, with the aim of reducing bureaucracy.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTogether with businesses, as a Government we have built a strong economy, a sustainable economy and an innovative economy,\u201d said Minister Schembri.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

He said that in ten years the increase in the economy has grown significantly, so much so that from \u20ac7 billion, it has now grown to \u20ac24 billion.<\/span><\/span> This puts us in a position for our country to take the next step with more ambition, this is reflected in the Malta 2050 Vision, with specific targets to be achieved by 2035. The Selection Committee, for the National Business Support Award, has chosen the European Services in Malta and Tech.mt Foundation, which achieved the highest points, to represent our country at the European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2025, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark later this year.<\/span><\/span> It was also announced that the Migrant Women Association has received the National Honorary Mention Certificate.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

This year the development in the number of applicants testifies to the growth in the country\u2019s economic activity, with a constant increase in production year after year.<\/span><\/span> The government organisations chose to give the monetary prize they won to the NGOs: Puttinu Cares Foundation, Equal Partners Foundation and the Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
